Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the Save My Take Android application and related services provided through https://savemytake.com.

Save My Take is a creator tool for recording, organizing, editing and exporting video content. The app also includes optional tools for scripts, notes, planning, dialogue creation, audio-based recording and AI-assisted features.

2. Information stored on your device

Many core Save My Take features are designed to work with data stored locally on your Android device. Depending on the features you use, this may include:

• recorded videos and video clips;
• recorded audio;
• imported video, audio, subtitle or other media files you choose;
• scripts and dialogue lines;
• draft projects and editing information;
• quick notes and creator ideas;
• weekly planning information;
• generated or imported captions and timing information; and
• app preferences and settings.

Local content is not automatically uploaded to the Save My Take website simply because it exists in the app. The current app has no Save My Take cloud account or project-sync service.

Videos or other media that you export to your device's Gallery or shared storage may remain on the device even if you later uninstall Save My Take.

3. Camera, microphone and media access

Camera

The app requests camera access when you enter a recording feature that needs the camera. Camera access is used for creator-facing recording features, previews, and optional AR face effects.

Microphone

The app requests microphone access when you enter or use a feature that needs audio input, such as recording your voice or recording video with sound. Features that record silent video do not need microphone access.

Media and files

When you choose to import or export media, the app may access files or media that you specifically select or create. This can include video, audio, subtitle and related project files.

You can manage Android permissions at any time through your device settings. Some app features cannot work if the permission required for that feature is denied.

4. Optional AI features

Save My Take can connect directly to supported third-party artificial intelligence providers when you choose to use those features. The current app supports optional direct connections to Google Gemini, OpenAI, and Anthropic Claude. You can use the core app without connecting an AI API key.

When you deliberately request AI text generation, the text needed for that request is sent from your device to the provider you selected. Depending on the feature, this can include your idea, script text, dialogue, prompt, character or performance instructions, and other text you choose to process.

When you use Gemini voice generation, the text and voice/performance instructions required to create the requested voice output are sent to Google's Gemini service.

When you use OpenAI caption/transcription features, Save My Take prepares audio from the media you selected and sends the prepared audio to OpenAI for transcription. The app is designed not to upload the original video file for transcription. If audio preparation from a video fails, the transcription request is stopped instead of falling back to uploading the video.

AI transfers happen only when you choose an AI-connected action. They are not required for normal recording, editing, notes, planning, manual scripting, or exporting.

Third-party AI providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. Do not submit confidential, highly sensitive, or third-party personal information unless you have the right to do so and are comfortable with the selected provider's practices.

5. API keys

Optional direct AI features let you enter your own API key for supported providers. Saved Gemini, OpenAI, and Anthropic Claude API keys are stored in the app's private storage in encrypted form using a key protected by Android Keystore.

The appropriate API key is used only when the app makes an authenticated request to the provider you selected. Your API keys are not intentionally sent to the Save My Take website or included in the app package.

You are responsible for protecting your API credentials, following the provider's terms, setting suitable usage or spending limits, and revoking or replacing a key if you believe it has been exposed.

6. Save My Take website and promotional content

The app may automatically request a small static promotional/informational feed from https://savemytake.com. In the current version, the app fetches its offers feed from the Save My Take domain and automatically accepts offer images only from that same domain.

As with a normal HTTPS request, the web server can receive technical request information such as an IP address, request date and time, requested resource, and basic network/request information needed to deliver and protect the service.

Promotional buttons can open a limited list of approved HTTPS websites only after you tap the button. External destinations open in the device's normal browser rather than in a hidden in-app web page.

The current app does not use a third-party advertising network, and it does not use the Android Advertising ID for the first-party promotional card.

7. Sharing and selling data

Save My Take does not sell your personal information.

Data can leave your device when you deliberately use an optional feature that requires it, such as direct AI generation, OpenAI transcription, or an Android sharing action.

For direct AI features, the content required for your request is transmitted to the provider you selected. For Android sharing features, such as sharing a prompt to another installed app, the specific content you choose is transferred to the app or service you select. The receiving provider's own privacy policy and terms then apply.

The app does not automatically upload your locally stored creator projects, notes, planner entries, recorded clips, or exported videos to a Save My Take user account or cloud library.

8. Data retention, deletion, and backup

Content stored locally by the app generally remains on your device until you delete it, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app. Exported files placed in shared storage or your Gallery may need to be deleted separately.

The current Android app configuration disables Android system backup and device-to-device migration of the app's private internal data. Files that you export outside the app's private storage are controlled by Android and by the storage or backup choices you make on your device.

Data sent to a third-party AI provider is subject to that provider's own processing, retention, and deletion practices.

Standard web-server logs associated with requests to https://savemytake.com, if generated, may be retained for a limited period as reasonably necessary for security, troubleshooting, abuse prevention, and normal server operation.

Save My Take currently does not require you to create a Save My Take user account.

9. Security

Network requests used by the current app are made over HTTPS. Saved AI API keys are encrypted in the app's private storage using Android Keystore-backed encryption.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information handled by Save My Take. However, no device, network, storage system, or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Keep your Android device protected and do not share private API credentials with other people.

10. Children

Save My Take is designed as a creator productivity and video production tool for adults and is not directed to children. The intended audience is age 18 and older.

We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children through the app. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can review the situation.

11. Your privacy choices and rights

You control many privacy-relevant actions directly in the app. You can choose whether to connect AI API keys, whether to send content to an AI provider, whether to use transcription, whether to share content to another app, and whether to export files.

Much of the content created in Save My Take is controlled directly on your device and can be managed or deleted there. Depending on where you live, privacy law may also give you rights regarding personal information held by a service, such as rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to certain processing, or request data portability.

12. Third-party services and SDK diagnostics

Optional AI features can connect directly to the following providers when you choose to use them:

• Anthropic / Claude: Anthropic Privacy Center

Snap Camera Kit

Save My Take includes optional augmented-reality face effects powered by Snap Camera Kit. When you choose to turn on Face Effects, Camera Kit processes the live camera stream as needed to render the selected AR Lens. Camera Kit is an optional enhancement to Save My Take's recording tools and is not required for the app's core scripting, planning, editing, or exporting features.

Save My Take, as the host Android app, requests camera permission and, only for recording features that capture sound, microphone permission. Camera Kit does not itself display the Android permission requests for these protected resources. The current Save My Take integration does not request location permission for Camera Kit and does not use location-based Landmarker Lenses.

Snap states that Camera Kit collects limited anonymized usage and performance metrics during normal operation. In regions where Snap requires acceptance of Camera Kit terms, the Camera Kit SDK may display a Snap-provided notice before a user can interact with Lenses. Snap processes information under its own terms and privacy practices.

Google ML Kit

Save My Take includes Google ML Kit technology used for on-device face analysis/effects. Camera image analysis for these features is designed to run on the device; the app does not use ML Kit to identify who a person is.

Google states that ML Kit Android SDKs can collect limited technical information for diagnostics and usage analytics, including device and app information, per-installation or device identifiers, performance metrics, API configuration, feature input/output size, feature versions, event types, and error codes. Google states that this diagnostic data is encrypted in transit and is not transferred by ML Kit to third parties.

Third-party services operate under their own terms and privacy policies. If providers, integrations, or SDK behavior change, this Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect those changes.

13. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app, its integrations, or legal requirements change. The latest version will be published on this page and the "Last updated" date will be changed.
